Surayya Barbee is the founder of The Kids League. Barbee’s leadership and perserverance has guided her to becoming actively involved in her community. Barbee has served more than 8 years with other youth organizations, and is certified in natural healing modalities such as reiki treatments. This savvy entrepreneur began her journey as a designer in the fashion industry in 2000. Soon after, Barbee opened a boutique, showcasing premium designs in 2002. Since then, Barbee’s business skills parlayed her into the restaurant industry in 2006, which she previously owned and operated several ventures. Most recently, diversifying her portfolio, Barbee landed a position as an associate producer on a major network.
While receiving his Bachelors degree at Morgan State University, Randy Parker embarked on a career in the music industry that led him to become an accomplished manager/producer/A&R. Parker’s appreciation for technology landed him a position as Ambassodor for Sol Republic, and Vice President of marketing at Slyde App.
With a Bachelor’s degree from Bennett College and a Master’s degree in Marketing from LaSalle University, Michelle began working with the big boys right from the start as the International Marketing Director for Virgin Records. In 2002, Michelle decided to take the entrepreneurial path and start her very own company, HUFF Events & PR, a full service boutique specializing in the entertainment, sports and fashion industries. HUFF has managed events and strategic publicity campaigns for such clients as: Usher’s album release party for Confessions in New York City and LosAngeles and much more.
Nicole George-Middleton, Vice President of the Rhythm & Soul / Urban Membership Department at ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), is responsible for the oversight and daily operational management of the department on a worldwide basis. Before making her mark in New York City’s ultra competitive catering market, Iman Dean learned the field from her parents by way of their family business, Kim’s Katering. Honing her craft until she turned sweet 16, the eager Tampa, Florida native took her talents up north to “The Concrete Jungle,” where she would start off hosting various Manhattan hotspots like chic establishments Babbo, Nobu and Jean-Georges’ Spice Market.
